Alysha Polite earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees from the Rhode
Island School of Design (RISD), in Providence, Rhode Island. In 2006 she obtained
a BFA in Illustration with a concentration in creative writing. She continued
her academic career through RISD's graduate program in Art and Design Education,
receiving her MAT (Master in the Arts of Teaching) in 2007.
Alysha grew up on Long Island, NY with her parents, Valerie and Peter Polite
and three sisters, Kerrilyn, Christy and Valerie. She is currently living
in Rye, NY with her fiancé, Martin, and their newly adopted cat, Mush.
In addition
to working as a freelance artist and illustrator, Alysha teaches Art at Hastings-on-Hudson
High School.
